LaRae “Peggy” Chivers Goodrich age 81, passed away peacefully at the Beehive Home in Naples, Utah June 12, 2019
Peggy was born in Vernal, Utah to Clyde and Lovina Chivers on January 9, 1932. She worked for Mountain Bell as an operator for many years, a teachers aid at the Maeser Elementary School and at the Penny’s Department Store on main street in Vernal. Peggy was very active in the LDS Church and held numerous positions, Relief Society President, chorister, teacher, and missionary.
Peggy married her high school sweetheart Verdin Goodrich April 3, 1951, they were later sealed in the LDS Temple for time and all eternity. Together through hard work and love they were married for 60 years and raised four children, Deborah, Craig, Kenneth, and Lori. She was the epitome of womanhood, her accomplishments are infinite. One of her greatest joys later in her life was serving a mission at the Uintah County Care facility along with Verdin. After retirement, Peggy and Verdin enjoyed their lives together, traveling with friends, camping, hunting, and caring for each other.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, husband, children Deborah Hopes, Kenneth Goodrich and infant son Ricky Goodrich, brothers Boyd, Durrell, and Arbrey, sisters Erma and infant Clyde Rae.
She is survived by her sister Angala Manning, sister in law Fay Horrocks, children Craig (Lana) Goodrich, Lori (Danny) Widner of Vernal, grandchildren Zachary (Shannell) Hopes, Royce Kimbel, Shelly (Allen) Taylor, Jodi McDonald and Roe (Marcy) McDonald.
A special thanks to all the family and friends that would come visit with Peggy during her time at the Beehive Home, Especially her sister Angala, her care givers and staff at the Beehive Home.
Funeral services for Peggy Goodrich 87 of Vernal, will be held Monday, June 17, 2019 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Naples Chapel at 11AM. Viewings will be held Sunday from 6-8 PM at the Mortuary and Monday 9:45-10:45 AM at the church. Burial will be at the Vernal Memorial Park.Services entrusted by Blackburn and Sons Vernal Mortuary and Cremation Care.
