June Bowden Fisher

June Bowden Fisher, 87, of Vernal, left her earthly home February 1, 2020, surrounded by her family.

She was born on June 27, 1932, in Vernal to Walter Warren and Mary Agnes Schanno Bowden. She married James Clifton (Jimmy) Fisher on July 15, 1952. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Vernal Utah Temple on April 10, 2002.

She graduated from Uintah High School. She and Jimmy moved to California in their early married life where they had two children. They moved back home to Vernal and had their last child. They raised their children in Maeser.

First and foremost June loved and enjoyed her family and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her fondest memories were of times spent on the mountain with her Bowden and Fisher families. Other interests were crocheting, reading, and putting puzzles together. She and Jimmy grew a large garden and she enjoyed canning the harvest from it. She loved her little sunbeams she taught in Primary for many years. She loved any outing and event that involved spending time with family.

She is survived by three children: Dale (Deb) Fisher, Elaine (Dale) Carr, and Gwen (Lynn) Prescott; 10 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren; brother Francis Bowden and a sister and best friend Clara Arnold; Jimmy’s sisters Betty Mae Mobley and Dorothy Caldwell.

She is preceded in death by her loving husband (Jimmy) James Clifton Fisher, her parents, brothers Claude, Walt, Jay and Don; sisters Mary Slaugh, Lola Stoner, Dorothy Rowen and Emma Wilson; and great granddaughter Adella Bullock.
