Grace was born in Hudson County, New Jersey May 19, 1929 to Carmine Caporusso and Maria (D'Appolo) Caporusso.  Her parents were Italian Americans and her father served in the Italian Cavalry, as well as in the United States Army during World War I.  Grace grew up in New Jersey and married Karl E. Nestler of East Orange, New Jersey at St. Aloysius Church in the fall of 1951. Grace traveled the globe with her husband,  whose duty stations in the U.S. Army included Austria, Ethiopia, North Carolina, Texas, Colorado, and Virginia to name a few.  She loved telling many fun and rich stories of all her travel adventures to everyone, and surely is telling them now.  Grace and Karl raised a family of 4 wonderful children; who in turn raised 10 almost as wonderful grandchildren, and 3 even more wonderful great grandchildren.  She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them, as well as with all her family to include nephews, nieces, cousins, and daughter/son in-laws.  Grace's passion was cooking and baking delicious meals and desserts.  Her famous Sunday spaghetti dinners would permeate the neighborhood down to the corner to get Matt's attention!  She would start her "gravy" at 7 AM.  Grace loved the colors baby blue and pink, and she eventually learned to love dogs, but not so much cats until very recently.  Grandkids would play funny cat videos to their grandmother for hours of entertainment for all.  She took her faith seriously and was a devoted Catholic her entire life.  Another passion of Grace's was her love of flowers and plants.  She would decorate every holiday with a various assortment of flower/plant artistry.  Her basement walls were lined with decorative flower assortments, and if anyone touched these masterpieces, someone was going to pay!  Grace was a beloved wife to her husband for 63 years and missed him immensely after his passing several years ago.  On November 26, 2020 Grace passed peacefully to rejoin her husband, family, and friends that have gone before her.  Her husband would frequently state, "Army wives go straight to Heaven"!
