Earl K Woolley

Major Earl Koa Woolley

May 25, 1925

to June 20, 2021

Major Earl Woolley died and passed into the next life on Father’s Day, June 20, 2021.

Earl served his country in the 187th infantry regiment 101st airborne. The Basin’s most decorated Veteran. Earl served in WWII and the Korean War where he received numerous awards including the highest award the army can give, the Distinguished Service Cross, Purple Heart, Silver  Star and many more. The army took a 17-year-old boy and molded him into a great man.   

He is survived by his two sisters Thelma Woolley Wright, Cleone Woolley Merkley, and his children Keli Woolley, Candyce Woolley, Perry Woolley and Paige (Jim) Van Houten. He had two grandchildren, Alice Marian Woolley Patterson and Bryn Woolley and two great-grandchildren Alivia Grace Patterson and Arya Airle  ( symonymname of Earl) Patterson.

He was preceeded in death by his first wife Marian Lucille Simmons Woolley who died in 1997, Ellen Mortensen Woolley who died in 2019, and his parents Horace Walter Woolley who died in 1962 and Sarah Waipa Parker Woolley who died in 1935, and his four brothers Tennyson (Ted) Woolley, Clayton Woolley, Evan (Monte) Woolley and Quentin (Tink) Woolley.

Earl was the best friend a person could ask for, a loving father and grandfather up to the end. He loved his family and his country.

When you are in the service of your fellow man you are in the service of your God.

Earl lived it until he died. He will be missed by us all.
