Barbara Massey Taylor Allen, age 85, of Vernal, passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 9, 2021, at her residence. She was surrounded by her husband and loving family.
She was born August 6, 1935, in Uintah County, a daughter of the late Sarah Frances Murray and William Sewell Massey.
Barbara married Edgar Rae Taylor on October 2, 1953. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple December 18, 1964. Rae unexpectedly passed away in September of 1984. She later married Ray H. Allen on July 27, 1986. They have shared 35 years of marriage.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings Clifford Massey, La Rita Needles, Elaine Allen, Douglas Massey and Audrey Funston, husband of 30 years, Edgar Rae Taylor, Son, Robert (Robbie) W. Taylor, son-in-law Calvin J. Jorgensen, great-granddaughter Gracie Lee Jorgensen.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, and a wonderful homemaker. She has a deep testimony of the Savior and knows her family will be together for time and all eternity. She enjoyed gardening, camping, crocheting and spending time with family. She cherished and adored each of her children and grandchildren.
Barbara is survived by three daughters, RaeLynn T. Jorgensen and Brenda Elaine Jorgensen of Vernal, Trisha Rasmason (Steve) West Jordan; four sons Terry Allen of Vernal, Tracy Allen (Lori) of West Valley, Troy Allen (Ronda) of Fullerton, CA, Todd Allen (Mary) of Murray; 21 grandchildren; 37 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; with 3 more great-great grandchildren on the way.
To Bobbie family wasn’t an important thing, it was everything.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021, at her residence in Vernal, Utah. Burial will follow in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery.
Visitation is from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021 at the Allen residence.
