Born on March 27, 1952 to William (Bill) Hanley Schultz and Mary Kamilla Hendriksen Schultz in Salt Lake City, Utah. Bill died July 20, 2026 in Vernal, Utah due to heat related complications. Bill was proceeded in death by his father, mother, and sister Elisa Louise Schultz. He is survived by his brother Oscar Hanley Schultz, 5 nieces and 4 nephews.

Bill was an only child before his brother came along 2 years later. His family moved from Salt Lake City to the benches in Bountiful where his sister completed the family. He grew up playing the clarinet, helping his dad around the house, and with their cars, reading with his mom, and enjoyed spending time with his cousins on his grandparents farm in Salt Lake City.

Bill attended Viewmont High School in Bountiful Utah, where he graduated in 1970. He went on to attend Salt Lake Community College earning his Machinist and Auto Mechanic Certificates.

After graduation he worked in the Salt Lake City area as a machinist, auto parts man, and mechanic before moving to Vernal to work for Chevron, Halliburton, as a parts hotshot and finally for a local ranch where he repaired equipment before retiring.

Bill loved restoring classic Harley Davidson Motorcycles as well as classic cars. He enjoyed spending time with younger generations, passing on his mechanics knowledge, along with his love of classic cars and motorcycles. Whenever he got the chance he would tinker with one of his latest projects or take out his motorcycle for a long drive.

Bill was an avid billiards player and could often be found at the local pool hall, or organizing tournaments for others to play too. He was a frequent patron at the Gateway Saloon in Vernal where he would chat with friends, play a game of darts, or billiards.
