Wade Cuch

Wade Shavanaugh Cuch was born on August 31, 1958, in Vernal, Utah to Russell Cuch and Bertha Shavanaugh. He left us on Earth to be with our heavenly father on August 5, 2026.

Wade was a father, a brother, an uncle, a grandfather, a son, a cattleman, rancher, a licensed diesel and oil mechanic, a Christian, and a friend to all. He spent all of his life giving and helping those in need, whether it be dedicating over forty years to J-West, Westrock, and retired from EOG or helping a stranger. There was not have a selfish bone in his body.

Wade grew up in the Uintah and Ouray Reservation and graduated from Uintah High School, class of ’77. He fell in love with Betsy Sparger and married in 1995. He reunited with his daughter, Courtney, in 2008 and has been close ever since.

Wade was never without Maggie and she became his travel companion and best friend. He had a million-dollar smile and a contagious laugh. He was a mentor and a pillar of support to his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. He loved to laugh, and make others laugh. He was loved and beloved by all.

He is proceeded in death by his wife, Betsy Cuch; his parents, Russell and Bertha Cuch; his grandparents, Saponese and Clara Cuch; Molly and James Shavanaugh; his brother, Reggie; and his nephews, Terry James Cuch and Trevor James Cuch

He is survived by his daughter; Courtney Ruth (Jeremiah, children; Zelda, Claire, Elizabeth, Bethany, Titus, Ben, Gabe) his Sister, Sonja (Duane their children; Michelle (Harsh, daughter; Mira) Marisa, Karl, Kohl, his brothers, Newman (son Gee), Sherwood, (children Rusty, Sheri (Orlin and children, Trey, Booker, Anfernee), Travis, Lindsay (Shaun; and children, Adrian, Ella, Lilly, and Olivia), Lynn (Ikie, children; Legatha (children; Chloe and Lottie) Woody, Michael (Kara; and children, Marissa, Allisyn, and Amera), Clayton (Falon; and child, Acedyn), Randie (Michael; and children, Madison and Jackson), great nephew & niece; Buddy,and Ariel, his stepchildren, Keith (spouse, Fawn and children), Kristi (spouse, Matt and children), Sarah.

Funeral Services for Tuesday 11 am at the Redeeming Grace Fellowship Church 500 North 500 West in Vernal a viewing will be

Monday 6-8 pm at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary and Tuesday 10-10:55 at the Church there will be a wake at the mortuary following the viewing Monday

Burial will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery
