Vivian D. Spahr, 93 of Vernal, formally of Rawlins, Wyoming passed away Sunday August 21, 2016 at the Uintah County Care Center in Vernal, Utah. She was born April 26, 1923 to Roy and Mabel Rhinehart Brackley Hanson on the family homestead near Pine Bluffs, Wyoming. Vivian married William "Jack" Sphar when attending college at the University of Wyoming, They were happily married for 43 years before Jacks passing in 1989. They were both draftsmen during WWII for Boeing in Seattle, Washington. She enjoyed traveling, playing bridge, hiking and looking for arrow heads. Vivian was a gifted painter and faithful church member at Christ's Lutheran Church in Rawlins, Wyoming. She is survived by her daughter Lynn L. Spahr, son Wayne R. Spahr; Three grandchildren and five great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents, brother Roy Hanson and husband William "Jack" Spahr. Funeral Services will be Friday August 26, 2016 at 2:00 PM @ the Christ Lutheran Church in Rawlins, Pastor Terry Wiley presiding. A viewing will be 1:00 PM prior to services; Burial will be in the Rawlins City Cemetery, under the direction and care of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
