Terry McConkie

Terry Lynn McConkie, age 57, reunited with his Heavenly Father with his family by his side on February 28, 2012. Terry was born October 4, 1954 in Vernal, Utah to Veulah and Lynn McConkie. He married his sweetheart Maxine Stott and her three children; Chris, Michelle, and Tresa on November 24, 1983. Terry spent his days enjoying life. He always had a smile and a joke to tell. He was always a laid back, go with the flow, gets along with everyone kind of guy. He loved his family along with his finches family. He enjoyed music, hunting, fishing, camping, boating, his dogs, and working in the yard, but most of all his grandchildren. They always put a sparkle in his eyes. His favorite thing was being a great husband to his one and only true love; Maxine. Terry spent his younger years in the oilfield and as a CPA. Later, most of his time was spent as the auto parts guy with many, many years at Savon Auto and Parts Plus. He will be dearly missed every day, although it is a blessing that he is at peace and no longer suffering. We are all sure that he was welcomed by a huge party and he is living the sweet life now. Terry is preceded in death by his mother and father, brother; Larry and Doug McConkie, sister; Carolyn McConkie Garrison, as well as many other family and close friends. Terry is survived by his sweetheart; Maxine Stott McConkie, children; Chris (Caroline Moon, Michelle (Jose) Tarango, Tresa (Robby) Lance, Tara (Shon) Stubbs, and Travis (Ashley) McConkie, 14 grandchildren and 1 great-grand baby. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the Maeser LDS Stake Center. Viewings were held Friday evening from 6-8 at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary and 1 hour prior to services at the Chapel. Burial was in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery with services entrusted to the care of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. In Lieu of flowers, donations for Terrys funeral cost would be greatly appreciated.
