Taylor Temples was born January 28, 1926 in Talco, Texas to Gladys Temples and Sallie Byrd. Taylor was one of eight children. He enlisted in the Army on April 11, 1944 installing telephone and antanea lines in New Foundland during WWII and the Army Reserves afterwards. Later he would make his career at Chevron retiring after twenty-five years of working in the oil fields in and around Rangely CO and Redwash, UT. Taylor married Norma Louise Berry June 3rd, 1948 in Las Cruces, NM raising a family of six and building two cabins above Meeker,Colorado. His lifelong passions included hunting, fishing, gardening, and enjoying the outdoors with his family. Taylor is survived by his wife Norma Temples, his six children Mike and Heidi Temples, David and Vicki Temples, Sally and Larry Young, Linda Johns, Jannette and James Clark, Karen Craft, his sister Thelma Thomas, twenty-two grandchildren, a multitude of great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Taylor passed away on March 7, 2017 leaving behind a legacy of 91 years of hard work, perseverance, and most importantly sacrifice for and love of family. Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 11, 2017 at 11:00 AM at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. A viewing from family and friends will be one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Rock Point Cemetery .
