Susan Fredrickson

Our beloved Susan Ann Fredrickson left us on the morning of Thursday July 27th 2023. Susan was surrounded by the people she loved most. She has left behind a loving husband, daughter, son, sister, four adoring grandchildren, and many more.

Susan was born on January 14th 1946 in Kansas City, Missouri; I’m told she was a bright and playful child, with a nurturing spirit who loved being a big sister.

In 1959, at the age of 13, Susan and her family moved to California by train. There, Susan grew into a beautiful, strong, hardworking and kind young woman with a passion for art and music.

She met her loving husband Larry Fredrickson in 1966, and not soon after, on September 2nd 1967, they started their journey together as husband and wife.

Susan and her family moved to Craig in 1980, and made it their home. She worked as a teller at Moffat County State Bank, as well as an associate at Big O Tires, and Northwest Pipe and Storage. She loved her community, and the people in it. She was fond of animals, nature, and always tried to stop and “smell the roses” in life.

Susan loved bowling, and went to the state tournament several years in a row. Susan was a strong woman of faith, and enjoyed doing acts of service for others, and her peers.  She raised two great kids, Michelle and Chris- who now have families of their own. Michelle and Todd have three fantastic teenagers- Aimee, Tanner, and Lauryn.
Chris and Sarah have one amazing young adult, Gwenavere. She was so unbelievably proud of them, and all their accomplishments in their lives.

Susan never lost her love for art, and became quite an accomplished watercolor artist. She loved anything to do with Disney…...from the movies and characters, to the theme parks. She loved seafood, and would choose Red Lobster as her place to eat whenever she could! Susan’s favorite holiday was Christmas by far, and she loved making it special for everyone, and spending it surrounded by loved ones.

In 2022 Susan and her husband Larry moved to Meeker, where she found a loving and welcoming new community.
 
Susan is survived by her devoted husband of 55 yrs Larry Fredrickson of Meeker, her daughter Michelle and son in law Todd Shults of Meeker, son Chris and daughter in law Sarah Fredrickson of Craig, Sister Maggie St. John, brother in law Tony St John of Craig, grandchildren Aimee, Lauryn & Tanner Shults of Meeker and Gwen Fredrickson of Craig.
Numerous nieces and nephews in Colorado, Idaho, California and Texas.
Susan was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Tim
Fitzgerald.

Susan lived a long and full life. Her legacy will live on through her family and loved ones. She was very loved and will be missed terribly. If you would like to pay your respects, we invite you to attend the Memorial Service being held in her honor at the LDS church in Meeker, CO on Wednesday August 16th at 11:30 am.
