STERLING JOHN STUBBS

(GRAMPS) 08-27-1943 to 04-12-2024

Our dad, grandfather, brother and best friend was welcomed home to heaven. Sterling passed with many family and friends at his side on April the 12th 2024 in his home. At the age of 80.

Sterling was born August 27th, 1943, to John Richie Stubbs and Sara Pearl Stubbs in Vernal Utah.

Dad was married to Wendy Jenson on October the 17th 1967 and later sealed in the Provo Utah temple on June 25th, 1976.  Mom and dad had 2 daughters Sterlene and Angela along with 5 boys Steven, Shannon, Shad, Scott and Shon. To whom this was the world he lived for.

Dad served in the US ARMY in Vietnam as a medic. Dad rarely spoke of this as to the events he saw but he was proud of what he did and contributed his ability to never have to take a life due to his faith in Jesus Christ and Prayer. Dad said his mother must have sent so many requests in prayer it is what sealed the call to help others.  Dad was the best or tried to do the best at anything he did. Dad’s work and family ethics are far too vast to fill.

Dad always said if you’re going to do it, do it well or try your hardest to do it correctly. Dad had a love for his farm, loved to ride and it showed. You could see our dad’s heart in it. His love for animals and how they are treated are far and few in between.

Sterling’s love for Wendy was so intense you didn’t just see it, you felt it. They were the team GOD had planned them be. It didn’t matter who you were or where you came from you were treated the same as a member of the family. In every aspect of it Butt whooping to lectures all of it came with his devotion to all.

Being in the Book Cliffs or on the top of the mountain dad was always so calm. Dad was one with nature as you could find him watching the great outdoors open and close every day, from the birds on the patio to the geese gracefully sailing the skies.  You could see the wonders in his eyes as he marveled at gods work, especially in his children and grandchildren. Not a day went by, that they were not the priority on his mind.  Sterling had 30 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren at the time of his departure with many more to come.

Sterling is proceeded in death by his mother and Father John Richie and Sara Pearl Stubbs, His beloved wife Wendy Stubbs, son Steven Stubbs, daughter Angela Stubbs along with several brothers and sisters, grandchildren, family and friends.

Sterling is survived by His daughter Sterlene Quist, son Shannon (Michelle) Stubbs, Son Shad and (Avis) Stubbs, son Scott and (Crystal) Stubbs and son Shon Stubbs. 28 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.
