Sophia S. Sargent

Sophia Sargent 95, of Vernal passed away March 31, 2016 at her son J.J. Kerlins home. Sophia was born September 8, 1920 Bnadenurenlle, Pennsylvania to Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Suhan. She was and accomplished welder being certified in many areas, she welded for American Locomotive building Locomotive and Sherman Tanks during WWII, and also General Electric building large motors and generators. Sophia enjoyed gardening, a good glass of wine and dinning. Her cat and her special friend a tiny Yorkie named "Tinker" . She is survived by her son, 2 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren Preceded in death by her parents; siblings; daughter-in-law, Lanny Kerlin; and great grandson Nicholas Kerlin. Funeral Mass will be Thursday, April 7, 2016. @ 10:00 AM at the St. James Catholic Church (138 West 100 North). A viewing for family and friends will be Wednesday at the church from 6-8 PM with a Rosary at 7:00PM. Burial will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery, under the direction of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
