Rosemary Daniels Bigelow passed away December 26, 2025 surrounded by family and loved ones. She lived a full life to 88 years of age. Rosemary was born October 6, 1937 in Fort Duchesne, Utah to Albert and Reva Young Daniels.
She was the second of five children, Charles, Rosemary, Bonnie, Bob, and Dannie. Rosemary and Bonnie were born in 13 months apart and were lifelong best friends, many even thought they were twins.
Rosemary was proud of her Native American heritage and loved to share stories and information about her great-grandma Rose Daniels.
Rosemary graduated from Union High School and married her high school sweetheart Larry Bigelow, September 5, 1956. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on March 6, 1964. They raised 4 children Julie, Kent, Diane and Lynn. Her greatest calling was being a mother and grandmother. She was involved in and supported her kids and grandkids various activities and interests.
She loved her sports. She was involved in many softball, volleyball, and tennis competitions. Even into her 70’s she was competing in the UBIC tennis tournament against high school age girls, and winning. She helped coach that Uintah High School girls tennis team. She worked at Uintah High School as an aide for 30 years and flag twirlers advisor for several of those years.
Rosemary was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings and ministered to her family, neighbors and friends. One of her most cherished callings that brought her great peace and joy, was serving as an ordinance worker in the Vernal, Utah Temple.
Rosemary is preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Reva Daniels, her husband, Larry Bigelow, her son Lynn Bigelow, her granddaughter, Brittney McLean, her great granddaughter, Raeley Whirley and her sister Bonnie Fausett.
She has survived by her children Julie (Terel) Merkley, Kent, Diane (Jeff) McLean, daughter-in-law Donica Bigelow, 17 grandchildren 30 great grandchildren 1 great great grandson and her brothers Charles, Bob, and Dannie Daniels.
Funeral Services will be conducted Saturday January 3, 2026 at 12 Noon at the Vernal 9th Ward Chapel 250 N 200 W.
Viewings will be Friday 6-8 pm at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary and Saturday at the church 10:45-11:45. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park next the her loving companion Larry.
