Ronald Neeley

September 2, 1965 — May 26, 2024

Heber City / Vernal

Ronald George Neeley passed away Sunday, May 26th at his home in Heber City, Utah. Ron is the son of Willard Edmund “Ed” and Myrna Jeanne Robbins Neeley. He was born on September 2nd, 1965, in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Ron grew up in Salt Lake City. He graduated from Highland High School in 1982. He pursued a career in Records and Information Management working for the Utah State Archives. He also took some college classes at the University of Utah. Later he transferred to the City of Park City where he continued working in Records Management and IT. He moved to Heber City to be closer to his job. He retired from Park City after 31 years of state and local government employment.

Ron loved being in the outdoors where he could fish and hunt. He loved being in nature. He also enjoyed golfing, going to the family cabin, and archery hunting. He loved his dogs. They were his constant companions. Ron enjoyed pulling pranks such as wearing a gorilla suit in downtown Salt Lake and scaring people. He would go into stores and buy bananas while he was wearing the suit.

Ron’s personality drew people to him. He had a great energy to be around. He remembered the details such as favorite colors and foods of family and friends. Ron loved people for who they were - not for their looks, wealth, or popularity. He loved everyone for just who they were.

Ron’s greatest love was his family and friends. He and his mother had a special relationship. They would call each other daily. He loved being “Uncle” to not only his niece and nephew but to many other children in the family. He absolutely adored his grandnephews, Drake and Beau. Ron’s friends were like brothers to him. They enjoyed hanging out together, enjoying life.

Ron is preceded in death by his father, Willard Edmund “Ed” Neeley as well as his grandparents.

Ron is survived by his mother, Myrna Jeanne Robbins Neeley of Heber City, Utah; his sister, Brenda (Larry) Petersen of Johnstown, Colorado; his niece, Carrisa (Marc) Salcines and grandnephews Drake and Beau of Cheyenne, Wyoming; as well as nephew, Tyler Petersen of Westminster, Colorado. He is also survived by his half-brothers, Mike (Terry) Neeley, Steve (Ann) Neeley, and Gary (Suzanne) Neeley all of Salt Lake City, Utah; and his half-sisters, Kay Neeley Galli and Bonnie Neeley Hill of Salt Lake City, Utah.
