Robert "Bob" Fairchild

Bob (Robert) Eugene Fairchild, 89, passed away May 7th, 2018 at Rangely District Hospital.  He was born July 1st, 1928 in Cheney, Kansas to Clarence and Caroline Fairchild.  A Rangely resident since 1958 he was a retired Chevron pipeline employee of 25 years.  He was a member of the Rangely Christian Church and the Masonic Lodge.  He was the main originator for the baseball program that is now in Rangely, and he directed the building of the field and setting up of the summer program with the help of many others in the community.  On September 17th, 1947 he married Phyllis Jean Evans in Great Bend, Kansas and they enjoyed 70 years of marriage.  Bob enjoyed hunting, fishing, sports, and most of all sitting in the patio swing watching the sun rise and set with his wife, the love of his life.  Bob will be greatly missed by those who loved him but we are so happy to have had him for all of those years.  We will miss his big hugs, laughter and smile.  He is now in the arms of Jesus and those who have gone before him.  He will be reunited with his son Bryan Charles who passed away so young, and a still born son, Randy Lee that he will finally get to meet.  He is survived by his wife Phyllis, son Rob, two daughters-in-law Brenda Halcomb-Fairchild and Alisa Warren-Fairchild, 5 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren.  Our thanks to Blackburn and Sons Vernal Mortuary, and Rangely Christian Church.  The funeral service will be held Saturday, May 12th at 1pm at the Rangely First Christian Church.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital either by phone at 1-800-822-6344 or mail checks (made payable to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital) to:
