Pauline Hymas Sadlier passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, in Provo, Utah, at the age of 88. Born on February 12, 1937, in Boise, Idaho, she lived a life marked by dedication to family, friends, and neighbors. Ray and Pauline loved and supported their children, never missing an event they participated in. They cherished time spent with their grandchildren.
Pauline spent her early years in Rupert, Idaho, where she attended elementary and high school. During her sophomore year, her family relocated to Green River, Wyoming. She graduated from Green River High School in 1955, setting the foundation for a life filled with hard work and service.
She married Ray Sadlier on December 26, 1959, in Bountiful, Utah. Together they built a life on their ranch in McKinnon, Wyoming. Pauline was a great cook and was well known for her homemade noodles. She enjoyed gardening, growing plants and flowers, making ceramics, puzzles, cross stitching, circle-the-word books, quilting and cake decorating. Playing bunco was the highlight of her month. Pauline also served in the McKinnon Ward as a librarian and in the Relief Society as the Secretary.
Pauline had a strong connection to the rodeo world. She served as a timer for high school rodeos and the Manila Cow Country Rodeo for many years. Alongside Ray, family and friends, she attended the National Finals Rodeo (NFR) in Las Vegas- a tradition the cherished for many years. She was honored as the Grand Marshall by the Dagget Country Cow Country Rodeo in July of 2024.
Professionally, Pauline dedicated herself to public service through her work at the Daggett County Assessor Office, from which she eventually retired.
She is lovingly remembered and survived by her children: Carma Slaugh (Kevin) of Vernal, UT; Robin Sadlier of Coalville, UT; and Troy Sadlier of Vernal, UT; Grandchildren: Cody Slaugh (Brittany); Dustin Slaugh; Heather Potter (Casey); Korby Sadlier (Sierra); Trevor Sadlier (Makayla); Abbey Sadlier, Tara Lacey, and Brittany Lacey; as well as ten great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her siblings Christine James, Dale Hymas, and Kelly Hymas.
