Pastor Stan Arias

Stanley Leroy Arias, born October 30th of 1954, went to party with his Savior October 15th 2013. A servant of King Jesus, lover of his wife Karen (the Queen of his heart), jack-of-all instruments, and a master of wailing on the trumpet. Shepherd, comforter, and counselor of those he loved, and he loved everyone. Some called him the Gate Keeper of Vernal, he greeted all who came to his small little town. His family and friends frequently teased him about his 20 questions to any waitress or service person. He never met a stranger. He was proud to be the son of Ben and Hilda Arias and delighted in fishing trips with his Dad and meal time and game time with his Mom. He was a professional at annoying and cutting up with his sister Susan Northup (Coos Bay, Oregon) and brother Spencer Arias (Vernal, Utah). He enjoyed LOUD marathon music appreciation sessions with his brothers Samuel Arias (deceased) and Steve Northup (Coos Bay, Oregon). He also regularly indulged in Facebook exchanges with his best friends Harry and Jeanne Umfleet and nieces, including copious pictures of their children and grandchildren (Tiffany Henkel, Coos Bay, Oregon; and Jen McIntosh, Portland, Oregon). He loved live music, BBQ grilling, making stick biscuits while camping with his family on Memorial Day (Kyle Caldwell, Benjamin, Hillary, Emma, Karli, Lucie, & Addie Arias; Vernal, Utah). He delighted in making his honey baby sweety mosky mosky laugh (Karen Arias; Vernal, Utah) and cuddling next to her for an afternoon nap. He was a connoisseur of iced tea and amazing creations with roman noodles and eggs, including the world famous, Papaghetti. He adored children and they delighted in him, frequently finding a resting place on his better than Serta belly. He was often tortured and weary worn by his daughters and nieces tickling extravaganzas (Hillary LaFrance, Melissa Caldwell, Kristy Arias and Summer Coursey) and always called for his wife to be his knight in shining armor. He knew how to cut a rug with the best of them, especially on Christmas morning when he made sure that each of his kids and grandkids had a moment all their own (Staci Hollis, Chandler Arias, Taylor Allen). Some called him a gatherer. It was not unusual to see him rubbing elbows with Senators or transients and connecting people with people. He served the community of Vernal, World Vision Assembly of God, and the Rocky Mountain District Counsel of the Assemblies of God for 34 years as a Pastor, Counselor, Advocate, Shepard, Educator and Community Activist. He loved every minute of it! He lived passionately devoted to truth and serving his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He built a legacy of faith and hope as well as church building, which stands as a physical representation of his dedication and vision. Jesus asked us to love one another. He loved! Dont worry Mr. Lee we carry your faithfulness and love with us and we will live the lessons we learned from you. We will be the evidence of how wonderful you were!
