Opal Shiner Richards

Opal Shiner Richards age 87 of Vernal passed away June 6, 2017. She was born September 2, 1929 in Vernal, Utah to Neldon and Goldie Shiner. She married her sweet heart Gordon Andrew (known as Laddie) on December 31, 1950. They had 6 children: Ronnie (the late Trudi) Richards of Vernal, RaNae (Mike) Gardiner of Vernal, Raema (Ivan) Gardiner of Vernal, Rita (Ned) Nash of Vernal, Randy (Larenda) Richards of Vernal, Ruth (Clark) Adams of Vernal. She had 16 grandchildren and 25 great grandchildren and 3 great great-grandchildren. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She loved her yards and her flowers. She loved going hunting and fishing. She is preceded in death by her parents Ned and Goldie Shiner, her husband Laddie Richards, and a grandson Jason Nash. We express our love and appreciation to Ashley Regional hospital, the staff in ICU and those out on the floor that took care of her in her time of need. They did a wonderful job for her and all of her family members. Funeral Services will be Friday @ 11:00 AM at the Vernal 5th Ward Chapel (250 North 200 West). A viewing for Family and friends will be Thursday evening from 6-8 at the Mortuary and at the Chapel one hour prior to the services. Interment will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery, under the direction of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
