Norma Kay Chivers Johnson, 74, passed away on October 23, 2013 in Tillamook, Oregon. Kay was born November 21, 1938 in Vernal, Utah to Lewis Earl Chivers and Bessie May (Richens) Chivers. She was one of five children and was very close to her brothers and sisters. She grew up and attended school in Vernal. She married the love of her life, Don George Johnson on February 26, 1959 in Ely, Nevada. Kay and Don enjoyed 54 years of marriage and raised four boys. Kay was the center of this rambunctious household. The family spent a lot of time outdoors fishing, hunting, and looking for arrowheads. When she wasnt outside, she loved playing cards, bowling, and crocheting. The door was always open at the Johnson house, and Kay would be waiting to offer you a cup of coffee and a listening ear. Kay is survived by her husband, Don, Tillamook, Oregon; sons, Rod Johnson and wife, Barbara of Tillamook, Oregon and Duck Johnson and wife, Jen of Vernal, Utah; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; numerous nephews and nieces. Each held a special place in her heart. She is preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Bessie Chivers; sons, Kenny Johnson and Joey Johnson; a grandson, Ace Batty; siblings, DeLoss Chivers, Tex Chivers, Lola Hairston Gaede and Billie Kay. Funeral Services for Kay Chivers Johnson wife of Don Johnson of Tillamook, Oregon and formally of Vernal will be conducted Friday Nov 1 11 am at the Naples LDS Chapel Friends may call at Blackburn Vernal Mortuary Thursday Oct 31, 2013 from 6-8 pm and at the Chapel Friday 9:45-10:45 Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park. entrusted to the care of Blackburn vernal Mortuary
