Max Eugene Martin

Max Eugene Martin age 70 passed away Sunday February 28th peacefully at home due to a lengthy illness. He was born March 31st 1945 in Vernal Utah to William Lester and Arline Kidd Martin. He married Louise Brough July 29th 1966 in Bennett Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple He is survived by his wife Louise, his daughter Terrie (Rod) White, his son Grady (Mindy) Martin, His 7 grandchildren, Jessica (Chad), Brendan, Karleigh, Tyler, Kelsie, Jaron and Kamry. Also 2 great grandchildren Karston and Sarenidee. A sister Loraine Martin and two brothers Michael and David Martin. He is proceeded in death by his parents, a sister Katherine and brother Richard. Nieces Shelly Sadlier, Tammy Caldwell and Shauna Martin and 1 nephew Clint Sadlier. Max was known locally for his hobbies and interests. He was an avid car enthusiast and has built many hot rods for himself and others, including his baby a 1934 Plymouth Coupe. Max also had a passion for fishing and spent as much time as he could on the water. He served on the Uintah County Fair board for over 20 years donating time to car shows and demolition derbies. He was also a big fan of NHRA drag races and stock car races. Max also helped in the construction of the Diamond Mountain Speedway where he watched his son, daughter and son- in- law race. He spent countless hours riding his Harley with his friends and family. In the last few years he enjoyed taking his new UTV on the trails looking for wildlife. Max was known for his upholstery work, paint & body work also for his unique mechanical skills. He could fix anything and was considered a jack of all trades. We would like to personally thank Dr. Alma and Christy Parker for their special care during the past 3 years, also the girls at Good Shepherd Home Care and Hospice, you are all amazing caregivers. We cannot thank everyone enough for going above and beyond in your care. To our friends and family that have supported him through the years, we thank you. Viewing will be held Wednesday March 2nd from 6:00 to 8:00 at the Blackburn Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 3, 2016 at Western Park with a viewing from 9:00 am until 9:45 prior to the Funeral at 10:00 . Burial will be at the Avalon Cemetery, under the direction of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
