Martin Lee Cook

Martin L. Cook was born on October 2, 1954 to Artie “Rex” Cook and Catherine Mary Cook (Weingardt) in his home town of Rangely, CO. He attended Rangely High School where he participated in several sports. After high school, he enlisted in the Navy and traveled to several countries; his favorite of all being Australia. He married Barbara Jean Archer in 1978. They proceeded to have 5 children together, in addition to Barbara’s 3 children from previous relationships. He was preceded in death by his father, brother (Mike Cook), and the love of his life Barbara Cook. He is survived by his mother and brothers Rodney(Mimi) and Alan Cook as well as his children Audra (Niclas) Mazzotta, Emily Cook, Danielle (Matthew) Ware, Hannah (Mason) Weibel, Brian “Noah” (Margaret) Cook, and Claire Meier-Cook, and Martin Pommerenke (Christopher). He leaves behind 18 grandchildren, 4 of whom he never met: Brice, Kaitlin, Rhys, Corrin, Owen, Michaela, Madison, Rex, Carleigh, Coy, Jude, Eiley, Kenslie, Remington, Atlas, Aurora, Adelyn and Damin. Martin is very missed and very loved. He is a constant in his children’s lives even though he is gone. He was a true example of service and eternal love for his wife. 

Funeral Services for Martin Cook, age 62, of Vernal. Will be conducted on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at 10:00 AM at the Rock Point Chapel (2575 North 1500 West). A viewing for family and friends will be from 9:00-9:45 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery, Meeker Colorado, under the direction of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
