Lila Oaks

Lila Shiner Oaks, age 90, passed away at Ashley Valley Medical Center, surrounded by her family. She was born in Naples, Utah to Neldon and Goldie Weist Shiner grew up on Brush creek on the Shiner Ranch. Graduated from LDS Seminary 1943, graduated from Uintah High School 1944. Lila married Ken Oaks in Meeker, Colorado August 29, 1945. Lila worked at Green Valley Market for many years, and Vonetta's Dress Shop. Lila was a great supporter of kids and grandkids in there sporting events. She was talented in sewing and crocheting. Well known for keeping many babies warm with her crocheted baby blankets. God bless you mom. We will miss you.. All our Love. She is survived by her children, Ned (Lynda) Jensen; Janet (Bill) Bailey; Jean (Chick) Beynon ; Joyce (Aaron) Johnson all of Vernal. Two step daughters, Oleta (Bill) Ruckman of Grand Junction Colorado, Helen Wild of Maui, Hawaii; brother, Clifford Shiner of Idaho, sister, Opal Richards of Vernal; 21 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Vernal 1st Ward Chapel. (475 West 100 South) next to the temple. A viewing will be at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary, Monday, November 23, 2015 at from 6:00-8:00 and at the Chapel one hour prior to the services. Burial will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Vernal 1st LDS Ward Chapel 475 West 100 South (next to Vernal Temple). Friends and family may call Monday evening from 6:00-8:00 PM at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary and 1 hour prior to services at the church. Burial will be in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery.
