Leah J. Anderson Age 81 Born June 21, 1943 – Died May 20, 2025
Leah J. Anderson peacefully passed away at home on May 20, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. Leah was born on June 21, 1943, in Davis, Utah, and grew up as one of eleven children in a large, close-knit family.
Leah had many passions, including fishing, woodworking, carving walking sticks and canes, and crocheting. She loved creating anything with her hands. Leah was always willing to serve and contributed to her church in many ways, from fulfilling various callings to her love of attending girls’ camp, where she was known for her fun-loving attitude and good food.
Leah married Gary K. Anderson on January 30, 1964, and they shared over 56 years of marriage before Gary passed away in 2020. Together, they worked diligently to raise their seven children, and she always said that her family was one of her greatest sources of joy. Mom often said that work was her play, and she took great pride in her accomplishments.
Leah worked at Uintah Packing for many years, where she dedicated herself alongside her family. In her later years, she enjoyed serving in the Vernal Temple. She and Gary also served a senior mission at Cove Fort, Utah, where they touched many lives with their service.
Leah is lovingly remembered by her seven children: Danny (Lindi) Anderson, June (Brad) Allen, Brenda (Duston) Mortenson, Becky (Byron) Richards, Carrie (Twain) Bridges, McCoy (Stephanie) Anderson, and Beth (Tyler) Wilhelm. She is also survived by her four siblings: Donna Rasmussen, Lanore Lance, Carol Gardner, and Benjamin Johnson. Additionally, she leaves behind 33 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren, who were a great joy to her.
Mom, thanks for everything we know that you and Dad are watching over us as our guardian angels. We love you.
