Laura Hacking Chew, 82, of Jensen, UT, passed away of natural causes on Wednesday, August 3, 2016. Laura was born May 15, 1934 in Maeser, Utah. She graduated from Uintah High School in May of 1952. She married Dean W. Chew, son of Douglas and Eleanor Chew, on August 15, 1952 (later solemnized in the Bountiful Temple). They were blessed with four sons and three daughters. Laura was a devoted wife, mother and partner in the building of Chew Ranch. She was a sincere member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she held many positions. Laura loved being able to serve as a temple worker in the Vernal LDS Temple. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers (Dennis and Joe Hacking), Chew in-laws, a grandson (Justin Chew Eliason) and a great-grandson (Elias Tiago Guzman). She is survived by her children- Doak Chew (Grace Lux) of Craig, CO; Scott (Tami) Chew, Renee (Russ) Steele, and Alan (Maria) Chew all of Jensen, UT; Queeda (Bill) Baldwin of Mitchell, NE; Neil Chew (Michelle Pierce) of Maybell, CO; Ladean (Breneman) Bitner of Thatcher, UT; former daughter-in-law Grace Ann May Chew of Fruita, CO; sisters- Margie (Vaughn) Mott of Kearns, UT; Sarah (Nick) Weisgerber of Vernal, UT; Sister-in Laws- Sonja Hacking of Kansas City, MO and Linda Hacking of Vernal, UT; 38 grandchildren and 42 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 9, 2016 at the Jensen Chapel in Jensen, UT at 11:00 AM; with viewing at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary, Monday, August 8th from 6:00-8:00 PM and Tuesday at the Church 1 hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Jensen Cemetery. Under the direction of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary
