Kerry Lynn Mitchell Slaugh, beloved mother and grandmother, of Vernal, Utah passed away suddenly on Sunday December 13, 2015 at a very young age of 57. Kerry was born February 18, 1958 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Albert Davenport and Viona Higbee Davenport. Kerry's parents divorced when she was very young. Viona later married Scott Mitchell and he raised Kerry and her siblings. Scott and Viona were hard working, amazing, loving parents. Kerry attended school in Manila, Utah. She spent most of her childhood and teenage years living in Manila where she enjoyed riding horses, and spending time outdoors. She married Brad Slaugh in 1975. They lived in several places before settling and making their home in Vernal, UT. Later they divorced. Together they have three children Kay Lyne, Curtis and Brian, all of Vernal Utah. Kerry was employed by Superior meat for 25 years and enjoyed working there. After leaving Superior Meat she worked at several places including Ashley Valley Vet for John Mathis, who was a positive influence in her life, PRS, National Oilwell Varco, Howard Supply and was currently employed at Beehive Homes where she made a positive impact and was loved by all. Her job at Beehive Homes was a blessing in her life, she loved cooking for the residents there and being able to take care of them. Kerry loved being in the outdoors, camping, hunting, fishing and spending time with her kids, grandkids and family. She spent her life taking care of others, always going behind everyone cleaning up and taking care of things. Kerry would drop anything at any time for her kids. No matter how big or small, she never said, no. She made many sacrifices for the benefit of her family. She enjoyed helping others. Kerry loved working in her yard and took pride in having a well-manicured lawn. She loved her routines, her life was a routine. Kerry spent her life supporting her kids in their hobbies such as team roping, hunting, girl scouts, sports and school activities. She also loved attending activities that her grandkids were involved in. Kerry is survived by her children, Kay Lyne (Jason) Calder, Curtis (Amy) Slaugh and Brian Slaugh. Eight grandkids, Dacey, Jace, Carly, Jaron, Braxten, Kayden, Tytan Slaugh and Natalee Calder. As well as many nieces and nephews that meant the world to her. Four sisters, Lynda (Stew) Leith, Jody (Kirby) Anderson, Val (Larry) Winter, Deana (Dave) Skinner. One brother, Stan (Jackie) Mitchell and sister in law Gwen Mitchell, she was preceded in death by her parents Scott and Viona Mitchell and her brother Victor Mitchell. Funeral service will be Saturday, December 19, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Naples 2nd Ward LDS Chapel. A Viewing will be at the Church from 9:30-10:45 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Manila Cemetery at 4:00 PM.
