Kendra Trevino

September 14, 1978 — March 6, 2024

Vernal

Kendra Terry Burger-Trevino of Vernal, Utah passed away unexpectedly on March 6th, 2024 in Provo, Utah with her family by her side.

Kendra was born on September 14th, 1978 to Robert and Gloria Burger in Atwater, California. In 1980, they moved to Dinosaur, Colorado where Kendra resided throughout her younger years until she graduated high school in Rangely, Colorado. In her younger years she took a lot of pride in her cake decorating, which she learned from her teacher Becky Maybury, whom she always spoke about every time she made a cake or baked. She was a great role model for her younger sister and had no issues showing her who was boss all the way into adult hood. While in high school she really enjoyed being a part of the marching band, where she played the flute, and took pride in the state wins they received in the four years she was involved. Following graduation, she went to Mesa State University in Grand Junction, Colorado where she studied computer science.

In 2000 she moved to Missouri, where she had her first child Dakota McIlhenny. At the end of 2001 she moved back to Colorado, where she resided for some time, that's when she had her second child Dagan Trevino. Four years later she had her third child David Clem. She soon started a job at Christi's liquor, where she worked for a couple years. She absolutely loved her job, and it showed. During her time at Christi's Liquor, we saw her grow tremendously. She had a way of connecting with everyone she met, grew fond of some and became friends with most. While working there she had met what she said was her "Soulmate" Devin Birchell. Shortly after that she moved to Vernal UT, where she resided with him and her children for the past 10 years. She was able to build a life with Devin where she could stay home and focus on her kids.

Many years later she became a grandma to her granddaughter Willow. Willow was the light of her life. They were two peas in a pod. In her eyes that little girl hung the moon. A couple years later she became a great aunt in March of 2023. She loved her kids, grandbaby, nephews and great niece. Her family has always been the light of her life. She had many kids that called her mom, and she treated every one of them like her own.

Kendra loved her time in the evenings feeding her fish in the backyard creek, and it seemed like every year she would have another fish to feed. She loved going camping at the property, fishing, hunting and being outdoors. Every year her daughter and her had a huge garden that they enjoyed growing together. She loved to color, do beading, arrange flowers and grow some of the biggest sunflowers I have ever seen. She took great pride in everything she did. Kendra was a bright, beautiful, intelligent person who always seemed to know exactly what to say to make your day brighter. And if she didn’t have the right thing to say she almost always had some kind of goodie, she had just made that would brighten your day and cure a sweet tooth.

When her mom passed away in July of 2021 Kendra had no problem stepping into the role, keeping us together and in line. She always made sure the plans were made and everybody knew what they were doing. She had a way of letting us know she was proud of us and everything we were doing without saying it. She is going to be missed by many and was loved by many more. Kendra touched a lot of lives in her short time on earth and she will never be forgotten. Her memories will live on with her friends and family to always remember just how special she was.

Kendra is proceeded in death by her Mother Gloria Mae Burger, Best Friend Sarah Williams ,Grandparents Kenneth and Maria Grayson, Grandparents Terry and Joann Rasmussen, Ronald and Janet Burger, Her Uncle Michael Grayson, and many more aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Kendra is survived by her Dad Robert Burger of Dinosaur CO, Her boyfriend of 10 years Devin Birchell, Sister Debra (Lee) Burger, Daughter Dakota (Spencer) McIlhenny, son David Clem, son Dagan (Zoey) Trevino, Nephew Lawrence (Jada) Burger, Nephew Travin Bird, Granddaughter Willow McIlhenny, great neice Avalynn Burger, Mary (Justin) Horn, Seth (Amber) Buckler, Dennis (Michelle) Stearns and Rick (Lori) Long.
