John Gary Harrison passed away at his home on May 11, 2026 in Naples, UT. He was born January 18, 1943 in Salt Lake City, UT to Helen Marie Bullock and John Carlin Harrison.
Gary graduated from Uintah High School in 1961.
He relocated to Mt. Vernon, WA in 1966 with his family and raised them in the Pacific Northwest on a little farm and owned automotive repair business in La Conner, WA for several years. Gary loved and missed his family in UT and would take any opportunity to drive back to Vernal, regardless snow, rain or shine several times a year and of course for many hunting trips.
Gary was very involved in the Boy Scouts of America as a leader for several years and enjoyed sharing his many talents and skills to teach young men and he served in several callings as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and was always willing to serve those in need.
He had a great love for the outdoors in the Pacific NW and enjoyed fishing, crabbing, hunting and being a human outfitter.
Nov 1, 1985 he was married to Sandra Y. Beedle and they relocated back to the Uintah Basin in 2000 and resided in Naples, in the home/farm he grew up on and raised cattle. His grandkids loved and getting away from their busy life in the city and drive his trackers and trucks on the farm.
He is survived by his wife Sandra Y. Harrison, his children Kirt (Julie) Hesperia, CA, Bert (Rebecca) Clearfield, UT, Sandra (Charles) Seattle, WA, Denise Vernal, UT; step children Shannon Beedle, Tony Beedle Jr. and Chance Beedle as well as 18 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and sisters Vivian Colobella and Janice Nyland.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sister Joan Janes and grandson Cailean Harnden.
