Jimmy Darrell Still (Age 76) went to be with his Heavenly Father on the
afternoon of December 1, 2025 at his home in Lapoint,Utah. Jim was born
in Manila, Arkansas on August 29,1949. He married his high school
sweetheart,Cynthia Faultersack in June of 1968. Jim was a graduate of
Benton Harbor High School in Michigan. While in Michigan he was employed
by UPS and a member of First Missionary Baptist Church in Coloma,
Michigan where he was ordained as a minister in May 1983. He attended
The Missionary Baptist Seminary in Little Rock, Arkansas where he earned
a BA in Bible Languages and a BA in Theology. While attending seminary
he pastored Lewisburg Missionary Baptist Church in Morrilton, Arkansas.
In the Spring of 1991 he accepted the position of pastor at Landmark
Missionary Baptist Church in Vernal, Utah. He has served as their pastor
for the past 34 years. Jim fluently read, wrote, translated and preached
from the original Hebrew/Arabic and Koine Greek in which the original,
inspired Word of God was written.Jim always said, "If you don't know the
ancient languages The Bible was written in, how do you know you are
teaching the truth." His other favorite statement in reference to The
Bible was, "CONTEXT! CONTEXT! CONTEXT!" Jim LOVED to play music. He was
self taught and could play almost any instrument he picked up by ear. He
especially loved playing the steel guitar with the band at The Golden
Age Center for their Friday night dances. Jim was an avid hunter,
fisherman, enjoyed growing a garden and raising various farm animals,
most especially his milk goats. Although Jim never served in the
military himself, everyone who knew him knew he was a proud supporter of
our military service members and veterans, most especially The United
States Marine Corps. Jim is survived by his wife of 57 years, Cynthia
Still. His son Micheal Still (Darcy) of Arkansas. His daughter Lori
Groth (SgtMaj Jon Groth -USMC Retired) of Utah. Grandchildren: Heather
Still (Matt) of Arkansas. Dakota Groth (Jeimy) of Utah. Great
Grandchildren: Ayden Garton, Tyler Sovulewski, Natalia Groth and LeeKai
Groth. His brother Jerry Still (Ruth) of Michigan. Proceeded in Death by
his parents Gerald Still and Julia "Jean" Still (Hennessee). The family
will plan a celebration of life/church picnic per Jim's request at a
later date.
