Jerry Remon Luck, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully on June 20, 2025, in Vernal, Utah, surrounded by family. He was 81 years old.
Jerry was born on September 12, 1943, in Vernal, Utah, the son of Jedediah and Ethel Barker Luck. Following his early schooling, Jerry embraced a life defined by hard work, beginning full-time employment at a young age to provide for his family. A skilled mechanic, he had a remarkable ability to keep everything he owned running, a talent that earned him respect and admiration.
Jerry found joy in hunting and fishing, often using his expertise in these hobbies to help sustain his family with fresh provisions. His love for the outdoors reflected the rugged spirit of Vernal, where he built a life rooted in self-reliance and care for others.
Jerry's hard-working nature always showed itself in his large garden and the many loads of wood that he hauled off the mountain each year to heat the family home. One year he indicated he had hauled 98 loads with the assistance of children and grandchildren.
On May 30, 1963, Jerry married the love of his life, Sherry Ann Hacking, and together they raised three children. Their marriage was later solemnized on August 29, 2014, in the Vernal Temple, a testament to their enduring bond. Sherry preceded him in death on December 30, 2017.
