Jessel "Jay" Kerlin

Jessel Jay Kerlin passed away on January 25, 2022 in Vernal, Utah. He was born May 1, 1936 in Saratoga Springs, Pennsylvania to John Kerlin and Sophia Suhan.

Jay served in the United States Marine Corps for 21 years. He was a member of the Elks lodge and American Legion. He was active in the Saint James Catholic Church.

Jay loved camping, woodworking, being with family, riding ATV’s and helping people.

Jay is survived by his children Mark (Shauna) Kerlin, Vernal, Utah, Mike (Paula) Kerlin, Lovelock, Nevada, and foster daughter Tana Shivley (Kathleen Lee) of Jenks, Oklahoma.

 

 He is proceeded in death by his beloved wife Yolanda Kerlin, Mother Sophia Suhan Sargent, Grandson, Nickolas Kerlin. 

 

Services are Saturday, January 29, 2022 10 AM at St. James Catholic Church a viewing will be held Friday 6-8 PM at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary

Burial will be in the Maeser fairview Cemetery with Military Honors from the American Legion
