Our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, Vera Helen Chivers returned to her Heavenly Father on January 15, 2013, surrounded by her loving family. She was born January 4, 1938 in Lapoint, Utah to Raymond Miles Bigelow and Vera Christena Lee. On October 14, 1968 she married Darris Chivers in the Salt Lake City Temple. Together they had three beautiful children Tanna Lee (Danny) White, Shelly Kay Deal, Douglas Ray (Melanie) Chivers , nine grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. She loved to travel with her husband, and together they traveled to many countries. In March 2004, they served an LDS mission in the Nauvoo, Illinois temple where they served as ordinance workers. She served in many positions in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was currently serving as an ordinance worker and organist in the Vernal LDS Temple. Helen loved gardening, scrapbooking, yard selling with her daughter, and most of all, spending time with her family. Helen also loved genealogy and published 2 family history books. She will be greatly missed. Helen was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Betty and Phyllis, and grand son, Christopher Douglas Chivers. A viewing will be held Sunday, January 20, 2013, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm in the Blackburn Mortuary. Funeral services will be held Monday, January 21, 2013, from 11:00 am to 12 noon in the Davis Ward Chapel, 4000 South 1500 East, Vernal, Utah. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services in the Relief Society Room. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park. Services are entrusted to the care of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
