Glade Theron Holmes

Glade Theron Holmes age 77, of Vernal passed away peacefully at is home surrounded by his family. He was born January 25, 1939, in Vernal, Utah to William Wallace and Emma Christine Olsen Holmes. He was the seventh of eight children. Glade married Eulah Darlene Pierce August 7, 1959 their marriage was later solemnized on August 20, 1965 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. In a large family and tough times Glade learned the value of hard work, from the farm to working in the timber with his brothers. He loved the lifestyle his parents provided for him and he worked hard to have a farm and cattle of his own. He accomplished that dream and many others as he and Darlene's family lived on Brush Creek for over 40 years, before moving to town. Glade started and ran a construction company for many years which allowed him to purchase land on Diamond Mtn. and further his dreams on the farm, He served as a temple worker in the Vernal LDS Temple, and loved being on the Mtn. and around his cattle, but his family was his greatest joys. He is survived by his wife, four children David R. Holmes of Grand Junction, Co.; Malissa D. Holmes, Vernal Utah; Christine Holmes of Norfolk, Virginia; Steven G. Holmes Vernal, Utah; 13 Grandchildren and 20 Great-Grandchildren Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the Maeser LDS Stake Center (2745 West 1000 North).
