Gilbert Beacham

Our beloved father, Gilbert Oren Beacham, died January 1, 2016 after a short, hard battle with cancer. He died at home with his family by his side. Gilbert, the youngest of four children, was born to Burton and Thelma Beacham in Powell, Wyoming on December 30, 1941. He had three siblings, sister Anna May Clinton, brother Sonny Beacham, and a sister Peggy who died in 1948. Gilbert had a carefree childhood in Jensen, Utah. He attended grade school there and high school in Vernal, Utah. He joined the army at age seventeen and served a tour of duty in France where he met his lifelong friend, Herman Courtwright. Gilbert married Lila Harrison May 2, 1964. They had four children: Mitchal L. Beacham (Andrea), Michelle (deceased), Trena Black (Troy), and Chance (Tirina). They were later divorced. He then married Stella Nelson and gained another daughter Kay Schreiner (Ronnie). He had eleven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Recently he enjoyed a get together with his entire family and was able to get a picture of them all together. He loved spending time with friends-taking in those friends, family, and strangers when times were hard. Gilbert enjoyed working in his yard, growing a big garden and sharing its bounty with everyone. After retiring from his work as a heavy equipment operator, he liked working on small engines and tinkering with woodwork. Graveside services will be held at the Jensen Cemetery with Military Honors provided by american legion and Utah National Guard, at 12:00 noon, January 8, 2016 followed by lunch at the Jensen chapel. www.blackburnvernalmortuary.com
