Elizabeth (Elizaida) Maestas Harrison passed peacefully at her daughter’s home in Bluffdale, UT surrounded by family on March 1, 2021 of kidney failure. 

Born on June 1, 1934 to Pedro and Maria Ruben Gonzales Maestas in Espanola, NM. She was the second of seven children. 

She married Ervin D. Harrison on May 23, 1953. Later solemized in the Salt Lake Temple on Mar 12, 1965.

 She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on Aug. 5, 1961. Her life was a continual dedication of service to the Lord and others from that day forward. Her family and faith were her zeal in life. She served in many capacities including Relief Society President, Relief Society Compassionate Service leader, Relief Society secretary, primary teacher, chorister, and coach of many church sports. Some of her joys were doing Temple Name Extraction and temple attendance, serving as President of the Vernal Ladies of Elks, Golden Age Center Board, DAV auxiliary and served the whole town of Vernal while she worked at Polar King and Chucks Drive-In and loved attending family reunions and spent most vacations visiting family.

 

Survived by her Children: Clifton (MaryAnne) Harrison of Vernal; Donna (Herald) Crapo of Myton, Terry Harrison of West Jordan; Lori (Jeff) Carpenter of Bluffdale; Dale (Tracy) Harrison of Lehi; stepson: Kenneth (Peggy) Harrison of Roosevelt, all of Utah. Grandmother of 25, (affectionately known by) grandma-great to 50 and great grandma-great to 16. Brothers, Max (Linda) Maestas of Espanola, NM; Joe (Janae) Maestas of Vernal, UT; Sophie Maestas of East Carbon, UT and Lee (Sandy) Maestas of St. George, UT

 

Preceded in death by her husband, Ervin D; parents, Pedro and Maria Maestas; Sisters, Marina and Maria Maestas; Brother, Leo Maestas; (half-siblings) Joe Maestas and Josie Sisneros; grandson, Jared Harrison; great-grandson, Justin Jones; granddaughter, Nikki Harrison Fernandez; stepdaughter, Verna (Joel) Brown and granddaughter, Sherry Harrison.
