NOTICE CHANGE TO LOCATION OF FUNERAL
Dennis Clayton Curtis
April 26th 1951 -May 26th 2025
Big Dennis passed away in his home Monday, May 26th.
Dennis was born to Clayton George and Vonda Lee on April 26th 1951 in Vernal, Utah. He was the first of 4 children.
He diligently served an LDS mission from June 1970 to June 1972 in Southern Germany. He was branch president while serving as a missionary in Hof.
Education and career
Dennis went to Utah Technical College in Provo, Utah with his best friend, Jerry Holfeltz. Where he completed his certification for mechanics.
He went to work at Dowell in 1976 , later known as Schlumberger, for 35 years. He was always one to help out, from cementing, E-tech, mechanicing, frac jobs,and traveling to kellyville many times for driver training school where he trained upcoming drivers about trucking.He was always very adimate on teaching about driving in mountains. He was an expert driver. He even did the janitorial work for the company. In his 35 years with Schlumberger he trained his fair share of youngsters, bringing up the next generation.
When retirement came along he couldn't sit still and the call of the truck was too much. He came out of retirement and went to work for 8-ball trucking hauling frac sand and cement to locations. Guess who's job location's? Schlumberger!
Family
Jaralee and Dennis got married on July 26th 1973 in the Provo, Utah Temple. June 28th 1975 they welcomed Cory into the family and very soon after on the 20th of June 1976 they welcomed Casey as well. They were later divorced in 1981.
Tina and Dennis got married on December 20th 1982 in Vernal, Utah. On February 4th 1985 Little Dennis (Bud) was born. Kelsy later Joined the boys on August 16th 1991. They were all later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple on August 20th, 1993.
Big Dennis performed the Baptismal ordinances for his name sake Little Dennis (Bud) in the Salt Lake City Temple.
On July 3rd 2002 Rachael and Dennis were married in Vernal, Utah where he gained 4 bonus children. Celisa June 3rd 1985, Neil July 26th 1989, Beverly February 8th 1993, and Shelby August 2nd 1994. Dennis brought them into his heart and raised them as his own.
Funeral services will be Conducted Saturday, may 31, 2025 at 12 Noon at the Uintah stake center(3990 S 2500 E) Viewings will be friday 6-8 pm at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary and saturday at the Church 10:45-11:45
Burial in the Maeser Fairview Cemetery.
