Delores Rushton

Delores Carole Andersen Rushton passed away peacefully with her family by her side on April 27, 2013. MaDee was born on December 8, 1935 to Otto Jorgen and Caroline Ireta Rasmussen Andersen in Salt Lake City. She graduated from West High School in Salt Lake in 1954. She married her eternal soul mate, Bryce Arthur Rushton, on July 13, 1963 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on July 6, 1964. MaDee loved doing all kinds crafts and was exceptional at everything she did. She loved baking, oil painting, crocheting, sewing, scrapbooking and making greeting cards for all of her family for any possible occasion. She was happiest when she was serving her family and friends. Ma Dee was an exceptional bookkeeper and loved working in the accounting field. She worked as a bookkeeper for Pumpers Inc., for Danny Long CPA, and most recently for White Rocks Irrigation Company. She also enjoyed doing taxes for her family and friends. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served in many callings in the LaPoint Ward throughout her life. She is survived by her husband Bryce; children: Phil Rushton, Vernal; Wade (Michelle) Rushton, Vernal; Pam Atwood, Palisade, Colorado; Julie (Brad) Hayden, Palisade, Colorado; Blake (Rebecca) Rushton, LaPoint; Nicolette (Stephen) Oldham, Logan; Lonny (Tiffany) Rushton, Grand Junction, Colorado; 28 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; sister Judy Wilcox, Provo; brothers: Brent Andersen, LaPoint and Bruce Andersen, Ocean Park, Washington. She was preceded in death by her parents, her father- and mother-in-law; infant daughter Melia Dee; son Paul Bryce Rushton; grandsons, Greg Rushton and Bryce LaRoy Dingman; great-grandson Enzo Dingman; great-grandbaby Henrie; sisters, Yvette Curtis and Gloria Day, and many other angels touched by her loving spirit. A viewing will be held Friday, May 3rd, from 6-8 p.m. at Blackburn Vernal Mortuary, Vernal, Utah. Services will be held at the LaPoint chapel on May 4th at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing one hour prior. Burial will be at the LaPoint Cemetery under the direction of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary. She will be greatly missed. Not a day will go by without her in our hearts and thoughts.
