DeLaine Dahlberg

DeLaine Watkins Dahlberg was the daughter of Lorenzo and Jennie Watkins. She was born July 18, 1932 and passed away July 29, 2015. DeLaine was one of 11 children; she had 8 sisters and 2 brothers: Marie Smuin, Delora Burke, Juanita Ellsworth, Flora Watkins, Gladis Barker, Howard Watkins, Winnonia Walker, Norma Evans, Shirley Watkins, Delaine Dahlberg, and Bessie Owen. DeLaine married Clifford Massey (divorced/deceased) June 10, 1950 they had twin girls, Sherry Jensen (Daryl), Sheree Offutt (Richard); and three boys, Gregory Scott (deceased) (Julie), Bret Massey (Kathy), and Cully L. (Tim). She later married Harry Keith Dahlberg (divorced/deceased) January 12, 1985. She had 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. DeLaine enjoyed being with her family and making memories with them. Coming from a large family she learned talents of embroidery, crocheting and quilting. She and her sisters would often get together and make quilts for the family. They enjoyed this time together. Some of her fondest memories were from when she was a child. She enjoyed spending time with her childhood friends and her siblings. She appreciated everything anyone ever did for her. DeLaine was devoted to her church and church callings. She enjoyed teaching primary and visiting teaching. She believed in prayer and blessings; she had faith promoting experiences. DeLaine was very committed to loving thy neighbor and loving thy self. She was always available to help anyone in need and to always be there by their side. DeLaine had quite the sense of humor, even until the end of her life. She always had a quick wit with something funny to say. She always had her make up on and was always well kept. She was a classy lady and everyone who knew her liked her. A viewing will be held on Monday August 3rd 6:00-8:00 pm at Blackburn Vernal Mortuary, 15 East 100 North. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, August 4, 2015, 11:00 am at the Vernal 8th Ward, 1499 West Hwy 40. Friends and family are welcome to visit the 8th Ward from 9:45-10:45 prior to the services.
