Darrell Dee Lance passed away peacefully at his home on March 4 2017. He was born May 30, 1934 In Duchesne Utah to Gale Alby and Mary Thompson Lance. He was a veteran of the Korean War. On April 10 1954 he married Lanore Johnson Lance. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. Together they have five children, Kathy (Randy) Deets, Shanna (Terry) Hadlock, Kyle (Kerry) Lance, Geri (Francis) Benedicto, and J'Lene (Aaron) McCracken. Darrell retired from the Vernal City Police Department in 1992. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he had served in many callings. He loved his family, and the visits from his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. There was always a stash of candy and lots of hugs and kisses to share. He enjoyed taking care of his pigs and milk cow. He was a very selfless and giving person; he would give or do anything for anyone. He will be remembered for all the loads of firewood he hauled for those who needed it. Darrell is survived by His wife and children, 23 grandchildren and 49 great grandchildren. Sisters, Caroline Breakfield and Linda Touchard. And his brother, Terry Lance. Proceeded in death by Brothers Joe Lance and Doug Lance and Sisters Arlene Wilder, Lucille Dahlberg and Marla Margets. Funeral services will be held Thursday March 9th 2017 at the Davis chapel 4000 S 1500 E at 11am. A Viewing will be held Wednesday March 8th from 6 to 8 at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary and Thursday1 hour prior to the service at the chapel.
