Daniel Norton

Our beloved son Daniel P. Norton Sr. passed from this earth to be with our Heavenly Father on June 24, 2012 in Salt Lake City, Utah due to heart failure.

He was born November 1, 1955 in Porterville, California. He was the oldest son of Joyce and Leland Munson of Baker City, Oregon. He was a U.S. Army veteran and was honorably discharged in 1974, serving his time in California, Washington and Hawaii. He attended school in California and Henderson, Nevada.

 He was an accomplished painter and plumber throughout his life, and loved camping out and fishing as long as his Mother was there to take the fish off the hook. He has six children that he dearly worshipped, and a special sister, Deanne Toomey of Oak Grove, Missouri. They had a brother-sister love and bond like no other.

Daniels survivors include his parents; mother Joyce and dad Lee, formerly of Vernal, sons; Daniel Phillip Norton Jr. (Trista) of Vernal, Jeremy D. Norton of Opelika, Alabama, Jeffery D. Norton of Fairfield, California, Jeffery Doyle Norton of California, daughters; Daniele Norton, Ashlee Deanne Norton and Xena Norton of Biloxi, Mississippi, wife; Regina Burman Norton of Biloxi, and sisters; Doylene McQueen Norton of Porterville, California, Deanne Toomey (George) of Oak Grove, Missouri, Lynna Harrison (Tom) of Vernal, Leah Goodale of Baker City, Oregon, nine grandchildren, one great grandson, one great-great grandson of Fairfield, California, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and one Uncle and Aunt special to his heart, Roger and Donna Delk of Porterville, California.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents; Manuel and Linnie (Nanny) Kirkpatrick, T.O. and Suzie Norton, of Stockton, California, and Jack and Elizabeth Munson of Vernal, Utah.

Graveside services will be held, Friday, July 27, 2012 at the Maeser Fairview Cemetery with military honors by the American Legion Post 124 and 11 and the Utah Army National Guard. Arrangements were entrusted to the care of the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
