Dale Hatch, a dedicated aerospace engineer and beloved member of his community, passed away on December 10, 2025, in Vernal, Utah, where he was born on October 14, 1944. He was surrounded by the love and support of his family during his final days.

Dale's career spanned across the country, reflecting his commitment to the field of aerospace engineering. Known for his diligence and expertise, he made significant contributions to his profession that will be remembered by those who knew and respected him in the industry.

A proud veteran, Dale served in the Army as part of the 101st Airborne Division, famously known as the "Screaming Eagles." He was an active member of the American Legion Post 11, participating fully in community and veteran activities. His military service stands as a testament to his bravery and dedication to his country.

Dale was also a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served in numerous callings including Elder's Quorum presidency and High Priest leader. His leadership extended to his role as the director of the Vernal Family History Center, helping many to discover their heritage. Additionally, he served a mission in the Southeastern states and continued his service alongside his wife, Joan, at the Salt Lake Family History Center.

His love for family was evident in every aspect of his life. Dale is survived by his wife Joan Franklin Hatch, children, Jeff (Christine) Hatch, Brian (Michele) Hatch, Diana (Michael) Hargiss, Kimberly (Chris) Viveros, and Amy (Eric) Frasure, along with his 26 grandchildren who were a source of immense pride and joy for him. He also leaves behind a sister, who cherished their bond deeply.

Dale was preceded in death by his parents, David Milburn Hatch and Grace Burke Hatch, as well as three brothers and one sister. The loss of these family members shaped much of who he became and was fondly remembered by him.

Among his many passions, Dale cherished his 1969 Chevy Camaro SS 396, a symbol of his love for cars and the friendships he forged through his time with the Dinaland Car Club. His adventurous spirit was matched by his love for travel, especially with his wife, Joan, exploring new places and creating lasting memories.

Funeral Services will be held December 20, 2025 at 10 AM at the Naples LDS Chapel with viewings on December 19, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Blackburn Vernal Mortuary, followed by another viewing on December 20, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 9:45 AM at the Naples LDS Chapel. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park, with Military Honors by the American Legion Post 11.

Dale Hatch led a life rich in service, love, and dedication, leaving behind a legacy that will be cherished by all who knew him. His absence will be felt deeply, but the memories he created will endure in the hearts of his family and friends.
