Clyde Verl Thompson

Clyde Verl Thompson, age76 died December 30, 2015 at his home after losing his battle to cancer. He was born in Vernal, Utah March 21, 1939 to Laura Harrison Thompson and Verl Thompson. Clyde enjoyed life in general, if he was on the mountain he was a happy camper. Growing up he was his Grandpas sidekick herding sheep up on the mountain. He became a wonderful cowboy and loved working with the Allen family in Browns Park, there he meet the love of his life Velma. They married May 23, 1964, and started their family. He was a jack of all trades, he found pleasure in wood working, fishing, camping and having his family around. His love of animals was crazy from chickens to rabbits, sheep, cows, horses, cats and dogs. You could say farming was a passion of his. He has had a hand full of job titles from coal mining,to construction work, to a line man and many in between. He had a special bond with many, I don't think he ever meet a stranger. He is survived by his wife Velma Thompson, sons Bill(Brenda) Allen, Johnny (Jessica) Thompson, daughters Shirley Willis, Amanda (Jessup) Davies. Sisters Clara (Fred) Hardman, Linda Dodson, brother in law Virgil Heed. 10 grandchildren Josie (Frank) Chandler, Bailee Willis, Celesta Allen, Stetson Thompson, William Allen, Payne Thompson, Jesslyn Davies, Quaiden Davies, Darci Davies, and Chayse Thompson. Along with to many nieces , nephews, and cousins to list. He is preceded in death by his mother Laura Harrison Thompson, father Verl Thompson, brothers Glen Ray and LaRell Thompson, sister Deon Heed. Grandson Bobby Leon "Sonny" Willis. In Lieu of flowers please donate to family for Medical expenses Funeral services will be Tuesday, January 5, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
