Clemott "Pete" Heddleson

Clemott Maurice Pete Heddleson; wonderful husband, exceptional father, and special papa, passed away at his home with his loved ones by his side on November 8, 2013. He was born August 3, 1928 in Allen, Oklahoma to Floyd and Anna Maynard Heddleson. He married Marcel Ross and they had three daughters; Sharon Kay, Susie, and Sarah. They later divorced. From his daughters he had many grandchildren and several great grandchildren who all lived in the Oklahoma and California areas. Pete then married Olen Atwood Feb. 24, 1962 in Craig, CO. Pete helped Olen raise her 4 children; Georgia, Wesley, Terry and Glenda. From their children they had many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great- great grandchildren who loved and adored him. Pete and Olen shared over 50 years together. Pete served in the Air force for three years after attending college. He worked in the Oil field all of his life in various states and countries including Singapore and Indonesia. He retired from PG & E Oil Company in 1990 as Superintendent over several states. Pete was also a member of the LDS Church. He is Preceded in death by his parents, a brother Bill, a daughter Sharon, sons; Wesley Heddleson and Tom Workman, grandsons; Charles Robert McGovern, Coulson Alan Rich, and Douglas Tate. He is survived by his wife and children; Susie Tate of California and Sarah Stephens of Oklahoma, Georgia (Bill) Roush, Terry (Joyce) McGovern, and Glenda (Alan) Rich, all of Vernal, UT. Also, brother David Heddleson of Wyoming and sister, Helen Jo Lewis of Oklahoma. His family hopes there are chocolate shakes in heaven for our Hero! Funeral services will be will be conducted Wednesday, November 13, 2013 at 11:00 am at the Davis Chapel (1500 East 4000 South). Friends may call Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary and 1 hour prior to services at the Church, Burial in the Vernal Memorial Park, with Military Honors from the American Legion Post 11and The Utah National Guard. Services have been entrusted to the care of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
