Our beloved Mom, Grandma and Grandma-Great, Clela Fay Chivers Pope, 92, died Aug 8, 2016 at her home in Vernal, UT with all of her family near. She was born Feb 12, 1924 in Vernal, UT to Nathan Charles Chivers and Mattie Collier. She married George Willis "Bill" Hatch of Vernal, UT March 11, 1942 in Vernal, UT and later solemnized in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple. They later divorced. They were blessed to adopt four beautiful children Judy, Brad, Mardy, and Marquita. Years later, she married Ivan Pope of Midway on April 1, 1993 and was later solemnized in the Vernal LDS Temple. Mother loved serving and helping others. She served in the Primary, Relief Society, Sunday School, and MIA in the The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-Saints. She served an LDS Mission in the Harrisburg Pennsylvania Mission. After moving back to Vernal, she and Ivan sang with the group "Lamar and Company" and the "Old Time Fiddlers" until his death. She continued singing with "Lamar and Company" and sang at the Golden Age Center, Uintah Care Center and Bee Hive Homes, in Vernal, just before her death. A highlight in her life was serving with her Eternal Companion, Ivan, in the Vernal LDS Temple. Her love for the gospel was evident to all who knew her. She left a great legacy for her posterity. She is survived by her children, Judy (Craig) Hutchings of Provo, UT, Brad (Cindy) Hatch of Spanish Fork, UT, Mardy Hatch of Vernal, UT, and Marquita Hatch of Vernal, UT, Step-Children Ron (Pat) Pope of Am. Fork, UT, Lori Pope of Midway, UT, Doug (Diane) Pope of Midway, UT; 21 Grandchildren and 27 Great-Grandchildren; Her only surviving sibling, her sister, Bonnie (ElRay) Duncan of Neola, UT. She is preceded in death by her Eternal companion, Ivan Pope; Parents, Nathan Charles Chivers and Mattie Collier; Brothers, Acael "Ace" Chivers, Marvin Chivers, Glen Chivers, Lowell "Smokey" Chivers; Sisters, Eva Simper, Beulah Wood, Donna Stewart, Juanita Chivers and former daughter-in-law, Debbie Alexander Hatch Funeral services will be held Friday, August 12, 2016 at the Davis 4th Ward Chapel in Vernal, UT at 11:00 AM; with viewing at the Blackburn Vernal Mortuary, Thursday, August 11th from 6:00-8:00 PM and Friday at the Church 1 hour prior to services. Interment will be in the Vernal Memorial Park. Under the direction of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
