Carolyn Kissel

Carolyn Gay Smith Kissel, having fought cancer for over 20 years, passed through the veil May 5, 2021 peacefully with her sweetheart by her side.
Carolyn was a San Diego High School Graduate.  She attended Brigham Young University, and was a Cougarette.  Her favorite story was of whitewashing the “Y” whenever she drove through Provo.
Carolyn was an active member of the San Diego Women’s Club.  She loved dancing and singing.  She had a beautiful alto voice, singing with her husband Donald in the “Centel Singers”  for many years. She loved an adventure; loved traveling, camping, fishing-especially in Baja California.  Carolyn worked and retired from Centel Telephone Company, where she met her husband in Las Vegas, Nevada. She loved her life with her sweetheart, her children and grand children.
Carolyn was a proud, patriotic daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother of service men and women in all branches of the U.S. military.
Carolyn joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in 1967.  She served a Family History Service mission with her husband Donald from October 2001 to October 2002 in Providence, Rhode Island, microfilming probate records.
Carolyn has always had a deep understanding of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; her testimony never wavered, being a true example of Christ-like love for her family and fellowman.  She always had company for Thanksgiving, any of her fellow employees who were alone during the holidays.
She is survived by her husband of 41 years Donald L Kissel, her 7 children, 25 grandchildren, and 48 great-grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers and sisters, a step-son, and a grandson.
We love you Mother.  We look forward to being with you again.  Families are Forever.
