Carl Stringham

Carl Dean Stringham, age 61 of Vernal, passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones, on April 21, 2016. He was born in Vernal on June 24, 1954 to Stephen B. and Loma Goodrich Stringham. He lived most his life in Vernal except for a five year adventure in Thailand. "Uncle Carl" as he was known by many, lived his life as an adventure and to the extreme. He was a very kind, generous, mountain of a man with wild long hair, and a hippie lifestyle. He was a member of the Townsend Club, the Arkansas Review, the Leader of the Band, and Gatekeeper of the belts, as well as the President of the Unruly Hair Club of the Gateway Saloon. He loved his sheep, was a king of chess, and was a redneck golf pro. Carl worked at the Lapoint Sawmill and became a master tree cutter. He also worked casing at Frank's Weststates Casing. Carl is survived by his daughter; Ginger Bowden, brothers; Robert B. (Marilyn) Stringham, and Jan S. Stringham, sister; Stephanie Hollibaugh, and sister-in-law; DeAnne Stringham, his grandchildren; Amelia and Jet Bowden and many, many friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, and brother; Kent G. Stringham. A memorial service will be held on Friday, April 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the Remember the Maine Park in Vernal with a potluck dinner to follow at the park. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of the Vernal Blackburn Mortuary. Peace, Love, and Beads-may you rest in Peace.
