On Wednesday, June 3, 2020, Bonnie passed away at Saint Joseph Hospital in Saint Paul, Minnesota after complications stemming from Heart Surgery. She was 76 years old.
A native of Vernal, Utah; born July 31, 1943. Bonnie attended high schools in Vernal and Pleasant Grove, Utah. She attended the University of Utah and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree. After college she moved to Minnesota where she became a counsellor in a residential rehabilitation facility. Her love for learning inspired her to enroll at the University of Minnesota in St. Paul, Minnesota where she achieved her Master’s Degree. Bonnie then obtained a position at Macalester College in Saint Paul, as a Technology Specialist writing IT tutorials until her retirement. She developed many friendships with the students at Macalester that continued long after her retirement.
Bonnie was an avid reader, enjoyed going to plays and loved searching for antiques. She spent a lot of her extra time travelling and volunteering for different organizations such as Sundance Film Festival in Park City, Utah, and transcribing Barile for the State of Minnesota. She never met a stranger. Bonnie was a strong willed person who was always willing to turn the other cheek; giving her time and money to those in need regardless of age or ethnicity
Bonnie was the daughter of William (Bill) Alexander and Plesia Provance who both preceded her in death. She will be remembered by Lori Buggs, her two sisters; Plesia, Saundra, two nieces, three nephews, aunts and cousins.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, June 27, 2020, at the Maeser Fairview Cemetery in Vernal, Utah at 1:00 pm. Her niece, Tonja Norwood will give a brief reading and her cousin, Don Alexander will dedicate the grave. under the direction of Blackburn & Sons Vernal Mortuary and Cremation Care.
