Billy Reynold Willes was born March 4th, 1930, in Idaho Falls, Idaho. He was almost 90 years old when he passed away on January 8th, 2020 in Vernal, Utah. He is preceded in death by his wife Helen Joy Willes, brother Dale Willes, son-in-law Aidan Judd, daughter-in-law Jannice Hiler Willes, Granddaughter Kali Jo Willes, and Great- granddaughter Nora Willes.
Billy graduated from Clark County High School. He served as a file clerk in the Army from March 1951 and was honorably discharged in March 1953.
Billy and Helen Johnson were married on September 26th, 1952 in Rigby, Idaho. Then they were sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on May 20th, 1953.
Billy and Helen have 16 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 4 children. His children: Sheri Gae Judd (AlDan), James Alan Willes (Connie), Billy Mark Willes (Jannice ), Trenna Sue Hiler (Roscoe) and his sister, Betsy Joy Thomas (Walter).
Billy, as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, had many callings including Stake Clerk, High Councilman, Bishop (twice). His favorite calling was serving in the Vernal Temple.
When Dad wasn’t serving at church or working, he enjoyed the outdoors, camping, hunting, and fishing. Later he and mom simply enjoyed going for rides to see what animals they could spot.
They lived in Washington, Idaho, Montana, and then moved to what Billy called paradise, Vernal, Utah.
A special thanks to all of you great neighbors and friends who have taken such wonderful care of our parents over the years. We are eternally grateful for your kindness and love.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 18, 2020 at 10 A.M with a viewing from 9-9:45 A.M. All services will be held at the Vernal 9th Ward Chapel (200 West 250 North) Burial will be at the Lake Point Cemetery at 4 P.M.
