Beth Collett Sweatfield

A joyous reunion was held on February 22,2019 as Beth Collett Sweatfield passed through the veil into the arms of loved ones. She was born June 11, 1923 in Lonetree Wyoming to Wiley Sylvanus and Erma America Billings Collett the 5th of 7 children. She grew up on various ranches in the Bridger Valley, Wyoming. During WW II she moved to Ogden to study nursing. After graduating she moved to Vernal, Utah where she met Edward Alvin "Tex" Sweatfield. They married and raised their 4 children in Vernal. She had a career that included nursing, School Food Supervisor for Uintah County School District, and teaching Licensed Practical Nursing in Roosevelt.
She was a member of the Lady Lions, The Progressive Arts Club,Good Sam's Club and the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served in many callings including Relief Society President and ordinance worker in the Vernal temple. She loved to travel with her sisters and nieces and had many adventures with them. 
She and Tex built two cabins at Deer Lodge (lightning destroyed the first one) where they taught their posterity to love nature.
After Tex passed she moved t Legacy Retirement Center in South Jordan, Utah where she made many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, daughters Gena Waite and Megan Fredrickson, daughter-law Linda Sweatfield, and granddaughter Nicole Waite. She is survived by Alan E. Sweatfield, Colette (Scott) Hymas, 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Geneva Wilkins, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, March 1, 2019 at 11:00 AM at the Vernal 3rd Ward Chapel (475 West 100 South) Next to the temple.  Viewings will be at the Blackburn & Sons Vernal Mortuary Thursday evening from 5:30-7:00 and at the chapel from 9:30-10:30 prior to the services. Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park. Services are entrusted to the care of Blackburn & Sons Vernal Mortuary.
