Benny Holmes passed away February 9, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family in Vernal, Utah. He was born May 1, 1927 to Joseph William Holmes and Ivy Emma (Slaugh) Holmes in Vernal, Utah.

Benny married the love of his life Barbara Holmes on October 6, 1949.

He liked herding sheep and did it his whole life, since he was 12 years old. He broke many horses, and had many cows, sheep, and many other animals. He worked many jobs, including farming and in the oil field.

He is survived by his dear wife Barbara, children; Denny (Carol) Holmes, of Vernal, Patsy Ann (Milo) Snow, of Jensen, Susan (Arlen) Peterson, of Jensen, Kent (Valerie) Holmes, of Vernal, 11 Grandchildren, 27 great- grandchildren, and 15 great- great-grandchildren.

He is proceeded in death by his parents Joseph and Ivy Holmes, brothers and sisters, and great grandsons, Joseph Holmes and Ryler Lee Lister.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday February 12, 2022 at 11 AM at the Davis 4th Ward LDS Chapel (3990 South 1500 East) with a viewing 1 hour prior.

Burial will be in the Vernal Memorial Park.

Services are in the care of Blackburn Vernal Mortuary
